…Akufo-Addo’s In-Law Caged Over ‘Missing’ State Assets
By Prince Ahenkorah
Maxwell Kofi Jumah, the man who once called the shots at GIHOC Distilleries, has been snatched by national security operatives.
The big boss was reportedly nabbed on Sunday, June 29, after the security men came knocking.
Sources whisper that Mr. Jumah was whisked away from his own home, bundled into a pickup, and driven straight to the Ashanti Regional Police Command.
As we speak, the former GIHOC MD is cooling his heels, “assisting with investigations.”
This isn’t the first time security forces have come calling for Jumah. Back on May 15, operatives tried to reclaim state vehicles they say were still in his possession. He was nowhere to be found then, but the hunt clearly never stopped.
Insiders close to the probe are spilling the beans: Mr. Jumah is under the microscope for some serious money matters.
We’re talking about allegations of selling off state property without permission, dodgy deals in procurement, and even some shady vehicle purchases during his time leading GIHOC.
It seems National Security is on a mission, cracking down on suspected corruption and mismanagement of public funds.
As this drama unfolds, you can bet The New Republic will be keeping a close eye on every twist and turn.
