Vice President, Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has as part of her visit to Spain this week, met and engaged with GB Foods, a subsidiary of Agrolimen.
It is a Barcelona, Span-based multination holding company, controlled by the Carulla family. It is a major player in the consumer goods sector, with a primary focus on pet food, human food, and restaurant services.
Ghana has a longstanding relationship with Spain, and this engagement underscored government’s commitment to pursuing mutually beneficial partnerships.

The discussions focused on opportunities within the tomato value chain, and where they align with government’s broader agenda to promote agro-processing, value addition, and job creation.
A key priority is to ensure that Ghanaian tomato farmers are fully integrated into the value chain, thus creating sustainable livelihoods, strengthening local production, and reducing import dependence.
In a statement, Prof Opoku-Agyemang, assured that government remains committed to creating an environment that supports investments and strengthens cooperation.

She said the administration is determined to leverage strategic partnerships to drive industrial growth, support local farmers, and advance Ghana’s economic transformation agenda.
The meeting follows the vice president’s delegation arrival in Barcelona, Kingdom of Spain, to participate in the 4th High-Level Meeting of the Initiative “In Defence of Democracy.”
She was warmly received by the vibrant Ghanaian community, led by veteran actress and Ghana’s Ambassador to Spain, H.E. Kulsoume Sinare Baffoe. The Ambassador briefed her on the preparations undertaken and outlined the programme and key engagements scheduled for the visit.

“I look forward to productive deliberations as we engage with global leaders on strengthening democratic governance”, she said in a brief statement.
