The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has sworn in a newly constituted Board of Directors of the Ghana National Procurement Agency (GNPA) urging them to strengthen the company’s operational efficiency, competitiveness, and contribution to national socio-economic development.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony held in Accra on Thursday, November 6, 2025, Mrs. Ofosu-Adjare congratulated the members on their appointment and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting strong institutional governance and accountability as part of its broader transformation agenda.
She tasked the new Board to build the agency’s buffer stock capacity, support local industries, and ensure measurable outcomes in the ministry’s trade and industrialization efforts.
“GNPA’s legacy as a trusted procurement and trading institution must be sustained through efficiency, integrity, and forward-looking management.
The new Board must work to reposition GNPA as a competitive player in both the domestic and export commodity markets.” She stated

Hon. Ofosu-Adjare also commended GNPA for its resilience and continued relevance in Ghana’s trade and commodity value chain.
She encouraged the Board to uphold transparency, innovation, and good corporate governance in its operations.
On behalf of the Board, the newly appointed Chairperson, Rev. Ernest Kwadzo Agyei, expressed appreciation to the Minister and the President for the confidence reposed in them.
He assured that the Board would uphold professionalism, transparency, and accountability in the discharge of its duties.
“GNPA is central to the effective and ethical funding of public institutions. We must therefore conduct ourselves with fairness, due process, and an unwavering sense of responsibility to the nation we serve,” He said.
“Together with my fellow Board members, we pledge to promote teamwork, professionalism, and sound governance in support of the Ministry’s vision,” he added.
The members of the newly inaugurated GNPA Board are, Rev. Ernest Kwadzo Agyei as Chairperson, Ivy Emefa Adiko, Carey Yaw Owusu-Anti, Edinam Kojo Asamoah, Nana Opoku Fosu Gyeaboar III, Stephen Kwaku Bonah, Henry Yaw Acheampong, Professor Frederick Dayour and Joseph Konadu – Member
The newly constituted nine (9) member Board of directors also pledged their commitment to sound management practices, financial discipline, and strategic investments aimed at consolidating GNPA’s market leadership and developmental impact.
Hon. Ofosu-Adjare expressed confidence that the new team will help reposition GNPA as a key catalyst in advancing Ghana’s trade, industrialization, and food security agenda.
