Professor Ransford Gyampo, the Acting Chief Executive of the Ghana Shippers Authority, has officially requested a retraction and a public apology from Dr. George Domfeh regarding what he characterizes as a profoundly defamatory statement made on national television.
In a notice released by his legal representatives, Darko, Keli-Delataa & Company, Prof. Gyampo claims that Dr. Domfeh, during his appearance on TV3’s The Key Point on Saturday, November 15, 2025, made comments implying that he “sleeps with under-age girls,” a statement that the legal team asserts was broadly interpreted as an accusation of paedophilia.
The lawyers contend that what started as a policy and intellectual disagreement on the program “turned acerbic, insulting, and outright defamatory.”
They characterize the comment as “reckless, blatantly false, and malicious,” portraying Prof. Gyampo as “hideously immoral and irresponsible.”
The letter emphasizes that Dr. Domfeh had “no factual or legal basis” for making such an allegation and underscores the “significant damage” inflicted on Prof. Gyampo’s reputation, considering the national platform on which the statement was delivered.
The firm has insisted that Dr. Domfeh provide a complete retraction and apology within 24 hours, to be published on a media outlet of equal prominence to that of the original statement.
Should Dr. Domfeh neglect to comply, the lawyers indicate they have clear instructions from Prof. Gyampo to pursue legal action.
Copies of the letter have also been forwarded to the producer of The Key Points at Media General.
