Former parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), for the Korle Klottey constituency, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, has been arrested in the United States (US).
The failed parliamentary aspirant reportedly stabbed his wife leading to the arrest by authorities.
According to media reports, the young politician allegedly stabbed his wife after a heated argument that resulted in violence.
He is currently in US prison custody. Nii Noi burst into the political scene during the 2016 general election.
He contested that election but lost to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings who has occupied the seat till date. He has since been pursuing the seat without success.
