The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Richard Ahiagbah, has called on party members in the Ketu South Constituency to uphold peace, unity, and discipline as delegates head to the polls today to elect new constituency executives.
Speaking ahead of the much-anticipated constituency elections, Hon. Ahiagbah stressed that the exercise is an important democratic process that should strengthen, rather than divide, the party. He urged delegates to conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner throughout the election and to respect the rules governing the process.
He appealed to all aspirants and their supporters to approach the election with maturity, emphasizing that every contest must produce both winners and those who are not elected. According to him, the true strength of the New Patriotic Party lies in its ability to remain united after internal contests and to work together toward the party’s shared vision.
Hon. Ahiagbah encouraged every candidate to accept the outcome of the election in good faith and to place the interests of the party above individual ambitions. He noted that unity after the elections will be essential in rebuilding and strengthening the party’s structures within the constituency.
He further urged supporters to avoid inflammatory language, misinformation, and any actions that could create tension before, during, or after the polls. Instead, he called on members to demonstrate respect for one another and preserve the party’s long-standing democratic traditions.
“The success of today’s election should not be measured by who wins or loses, but by our ability to remain one family after the results are declared,” Hon. Ahiagba emphasized.
He also expressed confidence in the Electoral Committee and party officials responsible for supervising the exercise, urging delegates to cooperate fully to ensure a free, fair, transparent, and credible election.
As voting gets underway across the constituency, party faithful remain hopeful that the exercise will produce a united leadership capable of repositioning the New Patriotic Party in Ketu South ahead of future political activities.
Political observers believe that the peaceful conduct of today’s election will serve as a positive example of internal democracy and reinforce the party’s commitment to unity, accountability, and grassroots development.
