The Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Eric Edem Agbana, has engaged members of his constituency, at a forum dubbed, “Ketu North Accountability Series,” reaffirming his commitment to inclusiveness and local development.

The event, hosted by the MP at Tadzewu within the constituency, brought together scores of residents, including opinion leaders, youth groups, and stakeholders, all enthusiastic to participate in expressive discussions about the constituency’s development and progress, as well as discuss the challenges and the way forward to enhance progress.

Addressing the gathering Eric Edem Agbana expressed appreciation towards the constituents and charged them to see him as being called to the office for their benefit, and ensure they cooperate and communicate openly to enable them to gather accurate data and recommendations to enhance community development.

“As I have always said, I am your servant, and your vote is a mandate for me to be your errand boy for development. I will continue to serve and discharge my responsibilities with passion.”

The participants engaged actively in the discussions, asked questions, and shared their views on pressing issues affecting the constituency. The MP, during his speech, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the strong turnout and the depth of engagement demonstrated by attendees, noting that their presence portrays the need for accountability and willingness on their part to cooperate with stakeholders and promote development for the area.

He further assured them that ideas and concerns, including the requests, will be taken into consideration and dealt with. “Your presence, questions, and insights enriched the program and have ignited a renewed energy to aggressively tackle the challenges confronting us,” he said.

    Development shortfalls take center stage

During the meeting, key areas of focus, including infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and youth employment, were highlighted. Participants showed concern about road conditions and access to quality healthcare services.

    Harnessing opportunities for young people.

In response, the MP touched on efforts being made to address the issues. The Member of Parliament likened himself to a servant, “I am your servant”, he said, reflecting the principle of the servant leadership style, which affords accountability and openness towards one’s call to leadership.

He further expressed his appreciation towards them for voting for him as their representative in the parliament, noting that he will work hard to ensure the development and progress of Ketu North. He communicated his commitment to serving diligently and doing his very best to ensure that the trust they put in him to represent them is not in vain.

The constituents, on the other hand, also expressed appreciation for the opportunity to engage directly with their representative and showed respect towards them by the accountability forum. Participants saw this as an opportunity to get involved directly in the developmental agenda and also contribute their voice to issues of importance within their constituency.

During the discussions, residents were encouraged to remain active participants in development efforts, not only by attending forums but also by supporting initiatives and communicating with officials in areas they believe need attention.

The MP called on residents within the constituency to contribute in whatever ways they can to ensure that the development initiatives will materialize and offer growth. He also urged them to offer constructive feedback or advocacy whenever there is a need.

The new sense of purpose resulting from the forum signifies a positive step in the right direction for the constituency. The participants left with renewed mindsets and shared commitments, ready for progress and development.

Residents were encouraged to contribute their quota to ensure development in Ketu North. This accountability forum displays efforts made by both the Member of Parliament and his constituency towards building a formidable society that ensures the needs of the people are met and their views taken into consideration. This exemplifies inclusivity in government at all levels.
