The Achimota School branch of the Ghana United Nations Students and Youth Association (GUNSA) has donated an amount of GHC 2,000 to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Korle Bu teaching Hospital in Accra. The Atsia M/A Primary School at Ejisu Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region, has over the years received its share of the national neglect as pupils there precariously attend classes in a dilapidated structure. Atsia M/A Primary School structure is one of the oldest basic schools in the Assembly, which was established in 1940’s and has produced many graduates who are contributing their quota to the development of the nation. A family of six perished at Esereso Adagya in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti region when they were washed away by flood waters. The victims were trapped in a saloon car that was carried away by the rapid flood. All the six were members of Jehovah Witnesses who had closed from working on a church building and were returning home. They included a man, his wife, two children and two other relatives. The losses were attributed to trade malpractices that were orchestrated by government agencies and big firms during the clearing of goods at the country’s ports. Ghana is to receive an amount of $190 million U.S. dollars for the second allocation of compact funds from the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
