The Abura Asebu Kwamankese Constituency Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress, Akwasi Attakora Asante, has pushed back against claims that the Mahama administration and the constituency’s Member of Parliament Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu have failed to deliver development, insisting that tangible projects are actively underway across the area.
His remarks come in response to comments attributed to the Caretaker Chief of Essandokrom, Nana Essandoh, who reportedly criticized the government and MP Felix Kwakye Ofosu for what he described as a lack of visible development during the Minority Caucus’ recent cocoa tour in the constituency.
According to Mr. Asante, the assertions do not reflect the reality on the ground.
“Work is actively underway on site as we speak,” he said, referring to the ongoing rehabilitation of the Abakrampa road under the Mahama administration.
He pointed to several ongoing interventions, including the construction of a hospital at Nyamedom, a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Abura Abeka, and school infrastructure projects being executed through the combined efforts of the government, the MP, and the District Chief Executive.
Mr. Asante maintained that residents across multiple communities can already attest to the visible progress taking shape. He stressed that the government remains committed to upgrading roads, healthcare, and education infrastructure in the constituency, and urged critics to acknowledge the projects currently in motion rather than dismissing the administration’s efforts outright.
The rebuttal underscores the NDC’s push to spotlight its development record in Abura Asebu Kwamankese as the administration seeks to translate policy commitments into concrete outcomes at the local level.
