President John Dramani Mahama has commissioned a newly constructed Divisional Police Headquarters Complex at Krobo in the Eastern Region, describing the project as a major step toward strengthening security and improving law enforcement infrastructure in the area.
The commissioning ceremony, attended by traditional authorities, security officials, government appointees and residents, marked what President Mahama called a renewed commitment to ensuring peace, safety and efficient policing across the country.

Speaking at the event, the President said the modern police facility would enhance the operational efficiency of the Ghana Police Service and improve rapid response to crime and security threats within Krobo and adjoining communities.
He stressed that security remained a critical pillar for national development, noting that no society could thrive without peace and stability.
“The safety of our people is non-negotiable. This police headquarters is not just a building; it is a symbol of our commitment to protecting lives, property and maintaining law and order,” President Mahama stated.

The facility comprises administrative offices, conference rooms, detention facilities, accommodation units and other operational support systems designed to improve the welfare and effectiveness of police personnel.
President Mahama commended the Ghana Police Service for its dedication and sacrifices in maintaining peace and urged officers assigned to the complex to uphold professionalism, discipline and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties.

He also appealed to residents to cooperate with the police by volunteering credible information to support crime prevention efforts.
The Inspector-General of Police, in remarks delivered at the ceremony, expressed gratitude to the government for prioritising security infrastructure and noted that the new divisional headquarters would significantly boost policing operations in the Krobo enclave.

Traditional leaders in the area welcomed the commissioning of the project and described it as timely, citing growing population and commercial activities within the municipality.
They expressed optimism that the presence of the new police headquarters would help reduce criminal activities and strengthen public confidence in the security services.
The event was climaxed with a tour of the facility by President Mahama and other dignitaries amid cheers from residents and party supporters who gathered to witness the occasion.
