The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohunu, has called upon senior police officers to maintain peace and stability nationwide, stressing that a secure environment is crucial for national development as it attracts investors and enables citizens to carry out daily activities without apprehension.
This appeal was made during a ceremony in Accra, where senior officers of the Ghana Police Service were promoted to higher ranks, with eight officers elevated from Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) to Commissioner of Police (COP) and eleven advanced from Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACOP) to DCOP.

The Inspector-General emphasized the need to position Ghana as a safe and secure nation globally, noting that the promotions bring greater responsibilities and expressing confidence in the newly promoted officers to enhance their efforts.
“When security is assured, investors are encouraged to invest in the country,” he stated, urging the officers to serve with renewed dedication and improve policing standards. He emphasized the importance of unity and dedication in combating crime, noting the nation’s pride in the Ghana Police Service.
The senior officers expressed gratitude to the government, the Inspector-General, and the Police Management Board for the promotions, pledging to work diligently and remain committed to their duties.
