The Dzorwulu showroom of Zonda Tec Ghana Limited, was over the weekend the centre of attraction when the firm displayed it latest locally assembled vehicles for the attention of the general public.
The 2-day event, held on 13 and 14 August attracted companies and individuals who stormed the premises to catch a glimpse of the range of vehicles, made enquires and purchases at a very affordable rates.
On display were full range of automobiles designed to deliver power, efficient and durability on Ghana’s road.
The 2026 Zonda Tec Auto Sale and Expo, was a partnership between the company and the media organization, Channel One Television.

It is designed to empower local businesses, leading the automobile industry, to grow them and offer rare opportunities to the public to walk in to satisfy their needs.
The decision to partner came after an earlier friendly agreement between Channel One Television and Zonda to try and test two of it vehicles for six months before payment.
“I told Mr. SAMENS, I said, okay, now don’t pay me any advance payment. I give you six months to pay. And then I want you to use the pickup in the dirty roads. Don’t use it on the good roads.
They said, oh, really? Then we have this Citi [FM] touring the whole country coming up. Now pull your pickup up and let’s do a test. Okay? Then immediately we started that tour. Then after that tour, the feedback we got from the drivers was tremendous.
Mr. SAMENS immediately said, okay, me myself, I want to buy one more. He has used it now for three years”, Madam Yang Yang, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zonda disclosed.

Speaking to a packed venue, the CEO, revealed the intention behind the programme, stressing it is a platform for the public to purchase luxurious vehicles at affordable prices.
To ensure many were able to acquire their choice of vehicles, Madam Yang announced a promotion applying to all vehicles showcased and purchased during the event.
The vehicles included the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max and a selection of other models. They also had on show electric vehicles.
The CEO urged the public considering acquiring vehicles not to look any further but dash to their showroom to choose a car of their choice at a reduced price of up to 15%.

“So today, thank you so much for coming here to support Zonda’s dream, Madam Yang’s dream, and also to get an affordable vehicle. Those who are here, you will experience, you know, because today and tomorrow, we want to give you the vehicle at the most affordable price.
Some even the price is 10% or even 15% down. Zonda, we lose money but we want to lure our customers into our Zonda’s basket”, she disclosed.
Madam Yang, encouraged the public to trust their time and tested brand and make a purchase. The offer was available till the end of the event —–Friday, 14 August.
On his part, the MD of Channel One Television, Samuel Atta-Mensah, implored Ghanaians to support local businesses which are in their own way initiating innovative business solutions to enable them grow.

The veteran broadcaster said these businesses are important to economic growth and create chains of opportunities.
Acknowledging the contribution of Zonda Tec Ghana, to the local industry over the past years, SAMENS as he is affectionately called, said the company has with time been able to assemble vehicles that suit various categories of customers.
“Zonda Tec was one company that took it to the next level because they have managed to craft vehicles for different categories of people. So, if you are a beginner, there is a vehicle for you. Mid-range, there is a vehicle for you. If you are looking for something at the top end, there is also a vehicle for you”, he said.
He explained that, the partnership was birthed after becoming familiar with Zonda Tec over a period of time, corroborating what the CEO had earlier said. He said the aim was to bring the brand to the reach of customers without much struggle.
“So we thought that, well, being a company that we are familiar with, we can come up with this idea, work together, and see whether we can bring it to the doorsteps of Ghanaians”.

He added that the partnership is “about the Ghana enterprise, the effort of Zonda Tec, the push of Channel One TV, and more importantly, the desire to see Ghanaians experience luxury, affordable brands. So these are luxury vehicles that are affordable compared to what we have been used to”.
A lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School, Prof Ebo Hinson speaking on the speaking case of Ghana said by 2040 he is expecting to see that an integrated automobile ecosystem spanning from manufacturing to design and engineering.
According to him, “The case for Ghana’s automotive sector is very overwhelming economically, strategically, and socially. The question before us as I close is whether Ghana should pursue local automotive assembly and manufacturing.
That’s not the issue, but how quickly and how boldly we can act. Let me leave this with you as I close. Strengthen and fully fund the Ghana automotive development policy. This is to our policymakers. Give them the incentives they need. Give them the tax rebates they need. And then also pass mandatory local assembly requirements for government fleet purchases. SAMENS said we’re buying these things some time ago”.
He called for massive investment in financing, market access, and policy support advocating that Ghana builds the workforce now.

He said Ghana can easily lead the continent when it comes to industrial transformation “if we spend enough resources on building our automotive delivery capacity. They are the nations that build conditions that make the choice inevitable. Ghana has the vision. Ghana has the talent. Ghana has the opportunity. Ghana has Zonda Tec”.
Present at the event were associations, groups and financial institutions numbering about 20. Some of the banks were: Ecobank, Consolidated Bank of Ghana, Cal, Access, First Atlantic, Standard Chartered, Bank of Africa, Fidelity, Absa, Zenith, United Merchant, FBG, GCB, Societie Generale among others.
