The Ghana Education Service (GES) Management wants to inform the public, particularly newly hired teachers, that approval has been given for the payment of outstanding salary arrears related to the use of the 2024 financial clearance.
This approval, provided by the Ministry of Finance in partnership with the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD), applies to eligible teachers whose arrears accumulated from August 1, 2024, to November 2025.
Management also announces that these arrears will be paid in instalments as detailed below:
Payment Schedule
In a statement from the Head of Public Relations at GES, Daniel Fenyi mentioned that teachers will get their first four months of arrears in May 2026, followed by four months’ arrears in June 2026, four months’ arrears in July 2026, and the final payment in August 2026.
This organized method aims to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in the payment process.
Regional Directors have been instructed to share this information with all Heads of Schools to make sure that eligible staff are properly informed.
