In a ceremony resonant with gravitas and institutional gratitude, the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, GIMPA, conferred a special token of appreciation upon Hon. Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff to the President, on Monday, 1 June 2026, in recognition of his unwavering patronage and catalytic support for the university’s trajectory of growth.
The presentation was executed by Prof. Samuel K. Bonsu, Dean of GIMPA, before a distinguished assembly of faculty, management, and staff at the GB Auditorium. The occasion formed a centrepiece of activities commemorating GIMPA’s 65th anniversary, a milestone that underscores its legacy as a citadel of leadership, governance, and public service excellence.
Prof. Bonsu extolled the Chief of Staff’s consistent advocacy and strategic interventions, noting that his stewardship has been instrumental in fortifying GIMPA’s mandate to nurture transformational leaders for Ghana and beyond.
He characterized Mr. Debrah’s engagement with the institution not as perfunctory benevolence, but as a deliberate investment in the architecture of national capacity.
The conferment of the gift was framed as more than ceremonial courtesy. It was articulated as an acknowledgement of a statesman whose influence has helped embolden GIMPA’s mission to shape policy minds and administrative acumen at the highest echelons of governance.
As GIMPA reflects on six and a half decades of impact, the gesture to Hon. Julius Debrah stands as proof to the symbiotic nexus between political leadership and academic excellence. It reaffirms the conviction that national development is propelled not by institutions alone, but by visionary public officers who champion the institutions that forge them.
