Barely one week after she tragically lost her life, thieves have allegedly stormed the Kumasi-Daban residence of late Beatrice Owarewaa Siaw and ransacked the property.
She was a New Patriotic Party (NPP) patron, who was aspiring to represent the people of Mampong constituency in the Ashanti Region, boasting she has invested over GHs4 billion in project in the area.
But many months before the contest is set in motion, she has passed days after visiting jailed Ashanti Regional chairman of the party, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako also known as Chairman Wontumi.
Broadcaster, Kofi Adoma who has been on the beat, giving extensive reports on the death of Beatrice, popularly known as Mampong Dehye3, gave the latest news.
This is coming at a time the police are investigating the death and her autopsy report was expected to be completed last week Friday, August 14.
“It is today her autopsy report will come out. The police are investigating her death bit before they finish robbers have invaded her residence and ransacked her valuable items. It is unknown what the people were looking for. Her other houses were being targeted but sources say the police have tightened security”, Adoma said.
Also known as Nana Yaa, Beatrice shockingly died about two weeks ago after years of working to occupy the Mampong seat as MP. She is suspected to have been poisoned but the autopsy report is yet to confirm or deny.
Her campaign manager, Yaw Takyi, who first disclosed his suspicion said he was informed that the deceased vomited and eased on herself before moving out to get drugs. This is what has heightened his suspicion.
“Because I was informed they saw at her residence, it was an eyesore. They said she eased herself and vomited at her Kumasi Dabanhouse.
Reportedly, she collapsed after she purchased the drugs and was about sitting in her car.
Onlookers who saw what was happening rushed her in her to a nearby clinic. But she was transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Takyi backed the family’s decision to conduct an autopsy considering the circumstances under which his boss died.
“If you see something like this [toilet and vomit] then there should be an investigation to ascertain whether it is poison or she was sick and vomited. For that it is doctors and nurses that can confirm. So we are waiting for those who were sent to the hospital”, the Campaign Manager said with his red eyes filled with tears”.
Nana Yaa was raised in Chicago, in the United States (US), before relocating to Ghana to pursue her dream to be MP. She is not expected to be buried in Ghana.
She is likely to be flown to the US where her family has a tomb for it members and her parents are already buried there.
