Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has inaugurated a state-of-the-art ICT Centre at the Sankana Cluster of Schools in the Nadowli-Kaleo District of the Upper West Region, in a decisive move to bolster digital literacy and experiential ICT education for students.

The cutting-edge facility is poised to narrow the digital divide in the enclave by equipping learners with access to modern computing infrastructure and revolutionizing hands-on instruction in Information and Communication Technology.
Speaking to Citi News, District Chief Executive for Nadowli-Kaleo, Mary Haruna, hailed the intervention as a watershed moment for education in a district where ICT resources remain scarce.

“This commissioning is a very heartwarming one. ICT centres are not common in our district and for this singular honour we are very grateful. Our girls and boys will now be able to access it, even those beyond this community,” she said.
The Headmaster of Sankana D/A Junior High School, Abraham Behtu, described the project as long overdue, emphasizing that it will fundamentally reshape ICT pedagogy in the school.

“This is something we have been yearning and praying for. We have been teaching the students abstractly, drawing computers on the board. Today, they can touch them and have a feel of ICT,” he said.
The new centre is expected to serve not only the Sankana Cluster of Schools but also neighboring communities, igniting broader digital empowerment across the district.
