The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has seized 10 trucks filled with diesel in a significant operation that saved the state an estimated $2.3 million in tax losses. Security analyst Professor Kwesi Aning has confirmed reports that more than 40,000 rounds of ammunition mysteriously disappeared from the Ministry of Defence Armoury shortly before the previous government handed over power on January 7, 2025. The Office of the Attorney-General has filed a six-count criminal charge sheet at the High Court (Criminal Division), in Accra against the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, over alleged breaches of Ghana’s mining laws.
